Kathryn “Kathy” Land Brown
Kathryn “Kathy” Land Brown, 45, of Lexington, Tenn., died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 at Henderson County Community Hospital in Lexington. She was a native of Crossett and a 1991 graduate of Crossett High School. She was a resident of Lexington for the past 14 years and the manager at Shoe Show Store for 14 years.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Luke Brown of Lexington; one daughter, Judyth Brianne Clark of Lexington; four sons, James Dillan Brown of Lexington, Bryan Luke Clark and wife, Allyson, of Sterlington, La., Dakota Brown of Hamburg and Cole Ramsey of El Dorado; her parents, James and Ola Hudson Land of Crossett; two brothers, Gregory Winn and wife, Nicole, of Strong, and James Land Jr. and wife, Casey, of Crossett; one sister, Susie Haseloff and husband, Robert, of Brandon, Miss.; and one granddaughter.
Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17 in Crossroads Cemetery with Bro. Ferrell Breshears officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Johns, Jason Rice, Chris Rice, Russ Meeks and Tyler Lucas. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society Harrah’s Hope Lodge, 718 Union Avenue, Memphis, TN 38103. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home.
Wilbert P. “Bully” Fitch
Wilbert P. “Bully” Fitch, 74, of Fountain Hill, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2017 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was a native of New Orleans, La., a resident of Fountain Hill for the past 24 years, and a former resident of Houma, La. He worked as a tug boat captain and a truck driver. He was a member of Hamburg First United Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Nicholas Nutter; his parents, Alvin and Angelle Trosclair Fitch; two brothers, Joseph Fitch and Evans Fitch; and three sisters, Lillia Darcey, Eva Marcel and Vivian Fitch.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Annie Pruitt Fitch of Fountain Hill; three sons, Paul Fitch of Houma, Brandon Fitch and wife, Traci, of Crossett, and Mike Fitch of Hattiesburg, Miss.; five daughters, Gwen Billiot and husband, Robert, Cynthia Bourgeois and husband, Jerard, and Connie Fitch, all of Houma, La., Paulette Lirette of Hamburg, and Paula Verdin and husband, Elton Wayne, of Houma; two sisters, Willa Bobin Leco and husband, Greg, and Wilma Labiche, all of Houma; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Randy Russell, Bro. Stan Keely and Bro. Charles Townsend officiating. Burial was in Hamburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Seth Townsend, Rusty Crum, Chance Ray, Justin Leslie, Dakota Fitch and Austin Fitch. Honorary pallbearers were Donnie Swan, Harold Pruitt, Lee Whitaker, Travis Sowyers, Randy Pruitt, Rodney Pruitt and Ricky Pruitt.

Willie Joe Jones
Willie Joe Jones, age 81, of Crossett died Oct. 10, 2017 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. He was born April 22, 1936 in Laran, La. He was retired from G.P. Tissue Mill in converting and was a member of West Crossett Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Jones; his parents, Royal S. Jones and Chlorend Callaway Jones; one great-grandson, Hunter Jones; and one sister, Florence Bowden.
Survivors include two sons, Philip Jones (Lou Ann) and William Jones, both of Crossett; two brothers, Leroy and R.S. Jones, both of Crossett; one sister, Christelle Rickets of Crossett; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13 at North Crossett First Baptist Church with Bro. Robin Allen and Bro. Harold Cantley officiating. Burial followed in Bird’s Chapel Cemetery in Truxno, La., under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
Brenda Kay Marshall
Brenda Kay Marshall, 60, of Pine Bluff, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017. She was born in Hamburg July 5, 1957. She was a 1975 graduate of Hamburg High School and a former sales associate and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Knight Murphy.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy L. Marshall; three sons, Jonathan Griffith and his wife Kiri of Crossett, Shane Hall of Rosebud, and LCDR Seth Hall and his wife Katrina of Chesapeake, Va.; two daughters, Mandi Carter and her husband Trey of Crossett and Lasonia Hall of Pine Bluff; her father, Ed Murphy; one brother, Mike Murphy of Hamburg; and one sister, Mary Rodgers of McGhee.
Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10 at North Crossett First Baptist Church, 1035 Hwy 133 with Rev. Rick Ethridge officiating. Burial was in Egypt Cemetery in Milo and under the direction of Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
Wayne U. Nutt
Wayne U. Nutt, 99, husband of Patricia Nutt, died Oct. 14, 2017. A full Military Honors ceremony will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, S.C. Oct. 19.
Arrangements are by Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Columbia, S.C.
Velma Frances Teutsch
Velma Frances Teutsch, age 71, of Crossett, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at her home. She was born May 24, 1946 in El Paso, Texas.
She was a homemaker and a member of Church Of Christ of Crossett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James H. and Laura Rodgers Parker, and two sisters, Linda Lawrence and Jamie Parker.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Teutsch of Crossett; three sons, Terry Collins and wife, Carrie of Junction City, La., Billy Rath and wife, Becky of West Monroe, and Joseph Teutsch of Crossett; three daughters, Laura Waltman and husband, Richard of West Monroe, Kandi Rath of West Monroe, and Michelle Grisham and husband, Kevin of North Alabama; 24 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time, and the family asks that any donations be made to Church of Christ Children’s Home, 555 Old Walcott Road, Paragould, AR 72450.
