Jonathan David Wallace

Jonathan David Wallace, 25, of Crossett, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born in Las Vegas, NV on June 22, 1990, to his parents, Donald and Lisa Wallace.

Jon enjoyed playing the drums, playing games, and building things, but especially loved fishing and spending time with his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his wife, Destiny Morgan Wallace of Crossett~ his parents, Donald and Lisa Walthall Wallace of Hamburg~ one sister, Sara Helseth and husband David of Meeker, OK~ grandparents, Jesse and Betty Walthall of Crossett~ and Herbert and Charlie Mae Wallace of Hamburg~ his mother-in-law, Jamie Herson of Crossett~ great-grandmother, Relda Perry of Crossett~ grand mother-in-law, Nita Curtis of Crossett~ one brother-in-law, Dean Morgan of Magnolia, AR~ one niece, Rylie Helseth of Meeker, OK~ two nephews, Carson Helseth and Kaden Branscum also of Meeker, OK~ one uncle, Kieth Wallace of Hamburg~ two cousins, Klent and Shea Wallace of Hamburg~ and his beloved dog "Max".

A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 7th at Medders Funeral Home Chapel, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett, followed by an interment at Promise Land Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Visitation was from 5-7:00 p.m., Friday, May 6th also at the funeral home.

Martha Faye Griffith

Martha Faye Griffith, 71, of Rohwer, AR passed away Tuesday May 3, 2016. Martha was born June 26, 1944 in Desha County, AR to the late Robert Lovell and Lottie Mae Cosgrave Rader.

Martha was always willing to help others. She loved animals, especially her dogs and cats. Martha loved to fish and quilt. She was of the Christian faith.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, John Lee King, James David Peacock, and DeWayne Griffith; son, Clarence Lee King; daughter, Charlotte Anne King; brother, Herman Rader; sister, Ora May.

Survivors include her daughters, Frankie (Gilbert) Garcia of West Texas, Mary (Chuck) Peterson of Hamburg, AR, Dorothy (George) Trigleth of Eudora, AR, and Thelma (John) Sullivan of Warren, AR; step-children, DeWayne Griffith of Hot Springs, AR and Korean Griffith; brothers, Warren Rader and Lester Rader of Arkansas City, AR and Clarence Rader of Rohwer, AR; sister, Vera Preston of McGehee, AR; 7 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was 5-7pm Friday May 6, 2016 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Funeral Services were at 11:00 am Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service Chapel in McGehee with Rev. Kenny Culpepper officiating. Ethel Streeter Pruitt

Ethel Streeter Pruitt, 89, of Fountain Hill, died Monday, May 2, 2016 surrounded by her family at her residence.

She was a native of the Snyder community east of Hamburg and a resident of Fountain Hill for over 50 years. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Hamburg where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a taxidermist for over 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William Pruitt; one son, Eugene Pruitt; her parents, Bill and Virgie Bates Streeter; five brothers, Buddy, V.L., Author, Floyd and Lee Streeter and two sisters, Sue Burch and Emma Nelms.

She is survived by one son, Harold Pruitt and wife, Delores, of Crossett; two daughters, Alice Webb and her fiancé, Donnie Swan, and Annie Fitch and husband, Wilbert, all of Fountain Hill; one sister, Johnnie Morrow of McRae; two brothers, Ed Streeter of Crossett and Wesley Streeter of Sterlington, La.; 10 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 34 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Randy Russell, Rev. Larry Hickman and Rev. Stan Keely officiating. Burial was in Hamburg Cemetery.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Rodney Pruitt, Randy Pruitt, Ricky Pruitt, Travis Sowyers, Brandon Fitch and Lee Whitaker.

Honorary pallbearers were her great-grandsons and her great-great-grandsons.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care, 990 HWY 425 N. Monticello, AR 71655.

Bessie Shelton

Bessie Shelton, 92, of Hamburg, died Friday, May 6, 2016 at Belle View Estates Rehabilitation and Care Center in Monticello.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Ashley County and Hamburg. She worked at Catfish Inn, Ashley Chicot Electric Cooperative and Boyd Nichols Store in Fountain Hill. She was a member of Eden Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, E.C. “Bunk” Shelton; her parents, John and Willie Craig Reames and one brother, Harvey Wilder.

She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn McKinney of Hamburg and Linda Huffman and husband, Bruce, of Monticello; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 8 at Eden Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Watt and Rev. J.W. Dobbins officiating. Burial was in Eden Cemetery.

Pallbearers were James McKinney, Chris Huffman, Brad Huffman, Chad Huffman, Andy Riels and Dennis Ellis.

Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of Eden Baptist Church.

Teri Anthony

Teri Anthony, 54, of Crossett, died Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Ashley County Medical Center.

Mrs. Anthony was a native and resident of Crossett for most of her life. She graduated from Crossett High School in 1980 and she graduated from the University of Arkansas at Monticello. She was a hairdresser and a member of the First Church of God.

She is preceded in death by a son, Brandon Ryan Ashcroft in 2000 and her father, Sonny Anthony in 2007.

She is survived by two sons, Matthew David Ashcroft and Christian Lukas Ashcroft both of Crossett; her mother Sue Davis Anthony Reed and step-father, Raymond, of Grady; a brother, Ronnie Anthony of Crossett; a sister, Rebecca Peebles and husband, Larry, of Wynn; a niece, Erin Dedman and a nephew, James Peebles.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2016 at the First Church of God with Rev. Will Hughes and Rev. Randy Ivy officiating. Burial was in the Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dillon Reed, Kyle Cheeseman, Paul McClain, John Kelley and David Vincent. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg. Online guest book at www.jones-hartshorn.com.

Richard Anthony Rickman

Richard Anthony Rickman, 59 of Hamburg, died Saturday, May 7, 2016 at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock. He was a native of Crossett but a resident of Hamburg. He was a plumber, former carpenter and of the Pentecostal faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mildred "Fayrene" Pollock-Rickman, and grandparents, Peter Marion and Dovie Ellen McMillen-Rickman and Garland and Elvira Holland-Pollock.

He is survived by one daughter, Danielle Stone, husband "Cye" of Clarksville, Tenn.; one brother: Marion Rickman, wife Shawn of Beaumont, Texas; two sisters, Karey Davis-Ashcraft, husband Wayne, and Sheila Rickman, both of Vidor, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Graveside service was at 5 p.m. Sunday, May 8 at Extra Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Dewanna Phillips officiating. Pallbearers were Wayne Ashcraft, Jim Pollock, Ricky Pollock, Bobby Linder Sr., Joey Linder, and Michael Linder.

Phyllis Lokey Barth

Phyllis Lokey Barth, 79, of Hamburg, died Friday, May 6, 2016 at Crossett Rehabilitation and Health Center. She was a native of Humnoke, a resident of Hamburg since 2013 and a former resident of Alamogordo, N.M. for 48 years. She was a dietary supervisor and she attended Southside Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Robert M. Barth; one son, Donald Lewis; one daughter, Cathy Lewis; her father, Herman Lokey; her mother, Lorene Harvill Wood; her step-father, Rufus Wood; one brother, Bill Lokey and one sister, Lois Price.

She is survived by three sons, David Lokey and wife, Vicki, of England, Robert Barth Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz., and Matthew Barth and wife, Ceclie of Los Cruces, N.M.; one step-son, Carol Wayne Lewis; one step-daughter, Barbara Talmud and husband, Moe, all of Conway; one sister, Carolyn Lawson and husband, Glen, of Hamburg; two brothers, Jim Wood and wife, Nancy, of Stuttgart and Paul Wood and wife, Betty, of Eudora; and several grandchildren great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Flynn Cemetery in Humnoke. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, PO Box 2222, Little Rock, AR 72203. Arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg.
