Connor Lee Burgess
Infant Connor Lee Burgess, of Fountain Hill, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. Survivors are mother, Stephanie Ashley and father, Johnathon Burgess of Fountain Hill; one sister, Brooklyn Burgess of Fountain Hill; grandparents, Brian and Amy Slaughter of Fountain Hill, Jimmy Ashley of Collins and Theresa Lisembee of Conroe, Texas; one aunt, Kenzie Slaughter; and three uncles, Matt Ellison, Son Slaughter, and Adam Ashley.
Graveside services were Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 2 p.m. in Collins Cemetery. Arrangements were by Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village.
Randall "Randy" Hiram Bussell
Randall "Randy" Hiram Bussell, age 59 of Lake Village, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2016 at his home. He was born Oct. 3, 1956 in Hamburg, to the late R.H. "Sonny" Bussell and Billie Jean Higginbotham. He worked at Georgia Pacific in Crossett.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Ann Fuller Bussell; two sons, Cody Bussell and wife, Brittany of McGehee and Justin Collins of Tillar; two daughters, Christy Anderson of Lake Village and Ashley Carter and husband, Tony of Crossett; one sister, Susan Camille Goodwill of Stuttgart; and five grandchildren.
Memorial services will be officiated by Bro. David Powers at Chicot Missionary Baptist Church at a later date. Cremation arrangements were by Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village.
Todd Anthony McGilton
Todd Anthony McGilton, age 44, of Fayetteville, formerly of Crossett, died Jan. 31, 2016 at Washington Regional Medical Center. He was born Aug. 16, 1971 in Crossett to his parents, the late John Kenneth and Dorla Alice Farmer-McGilton. He was a former resident of Nashville, Tenn., where he was manager of customer relations at One Care Dental Solutions. He was a member of West Crossett Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Joel McGilton.
Survivors include two sons, Blake Ryan McGilton of Bentonville and Davin Cole McGilton of West Fork; two brothers, Steven Kirk McGilton of New Orleans, La., and Corey McGilton (Angie); and two sisters, Donna Gulledge (Mike) and Sheila McClain (Monte), all of Crossett.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4 at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
Donald Girtman, 53, of Hamburg died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016 at Crossett Rehabilitation and Health Center. He was a lifelong resident of Hamburg, a retired truck driver for Hood Packaging, and a member of Phillip Grove Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius and Bessie Elizabeth Girtman, and one sister, Annie Mae Girtman-Cook.
He is survived by one son, Draylon Girtman of El Dorado; one daughter, Khadijah Marks of Warren; two brothers, Cornelius Girtman Jr. of Crossett and Dennis Girtman, wife Carolyn of El Dorado; and four sisters, Francis Robinson of San Francisco, Calif., Julia Merritt of Pine Bluff, Brenda Martin, husband Ronald of Augusta, Ga., and Debra Sodie of Colony, Texas.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7 at Phillip Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Horace Ingram Jr. officiating.
Pallbearers were Reggie Vincent, Charles Jenkins, Elvin Gibbs, J.P. Wright, Derrick Ellis, and Carl Tolfree.
Burial was in Nimmons Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc. of Hamburg.
Connie Ann Parker
Connie Ann Parker, age 55, of Crossett died Friday, Feb. 5, 2016 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. She was born Sept. 1, 1960 in Crossett, to her parents, the late Chester Raymond and Gail Rice King.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Gilbert King.
Survivors include her husband of seven years, Joe Parker of Crossett; one son, Michael Buckner; five daughters, Micki Barnett (Joey), Amy Ford (James), Mandy Buckner, Cari Jo Burnett (Charlie), all of Crossett, and Kristin Pullin (Jamie) of Bastrop, La.; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8 at Union Grove Cemetery in Hampton with Bro. Jamie Pullin officiating under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
Nicey Singleton, 55, of Monticello died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016 at her residence. She was a native of Parkdale but was a resident of Monticello for the past 22 years. She was a homemaker and a member of True Covenant Worship Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Girtha Singleton-Fielder; one brother, Billy Ray Kendricks; and one sister, Joyce Ann Singleton.
She is survived by three sons, Matt Stanley III of Little Rock, Reginald Stanley, wife Latoya of Jacksonville, and David Stanley of Monticello; five daughters, Cynthia Daniels, husband Odis of Wilmar and Temesha Stanley, Nitisha Stanley, Tanesha Stanley, and Michanna Stanley, all of Monticello; one brother, Earl Fielder of Monticello; two sisters, Barbara Yancey of Ridge Oak, Mich., and Lois Ann Fielder of Monticello; and 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11 at Morning Star Baptist Church with Pastor Marcus Allen officiating. Pallbearers are Timothy Miller, Kevin Miller, Senecca Matthews, Nicholas Miller, Yasmin Collins, and Lacourius Allen. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc. of Hamburg.
Mary Ella Brooks
Mary Ella Brooks, 71, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016 at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of the Mid-Cities in Bedford, Texas. She was a resident of Wilmot, a retired elementary school teacher, and a member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Brooks; her parents, William "Jack" Lindsey and Viola McDoo-Bass; two brothers, John William Bass and William Lindsey Jr. Bass; and three sisters, Annie Pearl Clock, Helen Marie Brown, and Emma Jean Bass. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Lacy Bass; two sons, William Lewis, wife Shonda of Bonita, La., and Steven Brooks, wife Keisha of North Richland Hill, Texas; one daughter, Willie Ann Jenkins, husband Clavin of Shreveport, La.; three brothers, Jimmy Ray Bass of Kilbourne, La., L.Z. Bass, wife Sandra of Little Rock, and Albert "A.B." Bass of Wilmot; and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13 at First Baptist Church with Reverend Albert Fenceroy officiating. Pallbearers are Darren McDoo, Randall Shelton, Cleveland Parker, Jimmy Ray Bass Jr., Anthony Rolf, and Alvin Jordan. Honorary pallbearers are deacons and trustees of First Baptist Church.
Burial will be in St. Martha Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc. of Hamburg.
