A COVID-19 vaccination clinic is planned for May 21 at both Health Units in Ashley County.

Clinics begins at 8:20 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. or when supplies are gone.

The Johnson and Johnson vaccine will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and no reservations will be accepted for these clinics.

The Crossett Health Unit is located at 1300 West 5th Ave down from Hood packaging and can be contacted at 870-364-2115. The Hamburg Health Unit is located at 401 N. Cherry behind the courthouse and can be contacted at 870-853-5525.

Additional ADH clinics will be held weekly in each of the state’s five public health regions.

Doses will be available to anyone 18 years of age and older on a first come first serve basis.

There is no out-of-pocket expense for the vaccine. People should bring take insurance cards to the health units. If they do not have insurance, the vaccine will be available at no charge.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine offered at these clinics is a one-dose vaccine.

The three authorized COVID-19 vaccines have each undergone rigorous reviews that have proven them to be both safe and effective, a health unit press release said.
