Ross Fuller, investigator for Ashley County Sheriff’s Department, said in an impromptu interview on Wednesday, July 20, that Georgia Pacific supervisors had recently informed them of suspected thefts of company materials by some of their employees.

Fuller said the incidents occurred over a six-month time frame, during which three employees allegedly stole copper from the GP site.

During the course of the investigation, Fuller said, they discovered the suspects appeared to be carrying about 50 pounds of copper under each armpit to their vehicles to later remove from the premises.
