Drug-Free Ashley County Coalition will hold its Wilmot Focus Group Conversation on Feb. 20 at 6 p.m. at Wilmot Community Center (dining hall) located at 204 Cone St. Robert Holt and the D-FAC Coalition will host the event.
They encourage people in the community to “Become a Part of the Solution.”
D-FAC Coalition Chairman Janie Carter said, “We need your input, suggestions, and recommendations. We invite you to join our Focus Group Conversation, to help us understand the needs of our community in order to keep our children safe from drugs.”
Carter requested, “Please tell all of your friends and neighbors in the communities of Portland, Montrose, Parkdale, and Wilmot” about the date, time and location of the focus group conversation.
She added, “Your attendance and participation are critical.”
Robert Holt, executive director of Healing Waters outreach center in Shannon Hills, will lead the session.
Carter stated, “Holt (is) a seasoned and dynamic facilitator who has led numerous groups throughout Arkansas in helping to clarify a community wide vision to promote the health and safety of our youth.”
She continued, “He will help us understand where we have needs for closer community partnerships.”
The D-FAC coalition is co-sponsoring this event along with Phoenix Youth and Family Services.
Carter explained, “Working together and sharing will help to provide information and solutions regarding the dangers of substance misuse and abuse, treatment and recovery, the reduction of stigma, and mental health needs.”
Everyone is welcome to attend this free event. For more information, contact Carter at 870-415-0139.
