The filing deadline for city offices has passed and Crossett, Parkdale and Fountain Hill all have contested races for council seats that will be on the November ballot.
In Crossett, Chris Gill and Glendell Moore are running for the Ward 2 Position 2 seat that is currently filled by Dale Martinie who did not file to run for re-election.
Two incumbents will have contested races this year.
Alyssia Le Wise filed to run against councilman Cary Lee Carter for Ward 3 Position 1, and Christopher Friedman filed to run against councilman James Knight for Ward 3 Position 2.
The three other council seats are all running unopposed. Longtime council member C.T. Foster, who has served more than 20 years, is running unopposed. Sheila Phillips and Kerstin Mondragon will also hold their positions without contest. Phillips was appointed mid term when councilperson Lynn Rodgers stepped down. Mondragon was appointed recently when Mayor Crystal Marshall vacated her council seat to serve as interim mayor.
In Fountain Hill, Elizabeth Hubbard and Loretta Woods have both filed to run for that town’s Alderman Ward 1 Position 1.
In Parkdale, Bertha Sherrer will race against Raymon Smith for Ward 1 Position 1.
Election day is Nov. 3 with early voting to be done in the days prior.
