After preaching by Eld. J. V. B. Waldrop, the church assembled in conference. The minutes of last meeting were read and adopted. The door of the church was open for the reception of members. The Committee on church covenant and rules of decorum made a report by presenting a new covenant and revised rules of decorum which were read and adopted. The Committee on Pulpit building reported that under unavoidable circumstances, they had failed to do the work and asked for further time, which was granted. The following resolution offered by Bro. Fudge was adopted, to-wit, Whereas, it appears that Bro C. A. Franklin has been guilty of disorderly walk, and as he has requested us to withdraw our fellowship from him, therefore resolved that we now withdraw fellowship from said brother. After divine service by Eld. Waldrop, the church assembled in conference. The minutes of last meeting was read and adopted. The door of the church was open for the reception of members. The committee on building of pulpit reported the work partially done and asked for further time, which was granted. The committee on church Record Book reported that the book was purchased and presented the same to the church, which was received and the committee discharged. A charge was preferred against Bro. Pope Bilbow for unchristian conduct with the specifications of intoxication, profanity and proclaiming non fellowship with the church. Said brother being present and refusing to make any concessions, he was excluded from the fellowship of the church. A charge as preferred against Sister Mattie Andoe for unchristian conduct with the specification of dancing. On a motion of the church her case was deferred until the next meeting. Bro. Barnes volunteered to see and advise with said sister. The church elected delegates to the association which resulted in the choice of Brethren Barnes, Fudge and Thach, with Brymer and J. McDougald as alternates. A motion was carried to send 1.25 dollars for minutes. The clerk was ordered to prepare a letter to the association to be read at our next meeting. After divine service by Eld. W. C. Kimbro, the church assembled in conference. Our Pastor being absent, a motion prevailed that Eld. Kimbro act as moderator pro tem. And the clerk being absent, E. A. Fudge was appointed clerk pro tem. The minute of the last meeting was read and adopted. The door of the church was open for reception of members. The committee on Pulpit made their report, which was received and the committee discharged. The case of Sister Mattie Andoe was considered, and as she refused to make any concessions, the church withdrew fellowship from said sister. The letter to the Association was read and approved. Sister Maggie Holliman, known on our church record book as Maggie Carpenter, was restored to the fellowship of the church and a letter of dismission was granted to her. Also a letter of dismission was granted Sister Savage. A resolution was offered by Bro. Fudge for the limitation of church letters, which was received and tabled. An election was held for Pastor for the next associational year, which resulted in the unanimous choice of Eld Waldrop. Done by order of the church in conference.

The door of the church being open for the reception of members Nancy Morris (cold) was received by experience of grace. The resolution which was tabled at the last meeting was taken up, read and adopted and the clerk was ordered to record the same in connection with the rules of decorum. The following resolution was adopted, to-wit: Whereas it appears that Bro. Julius Casen [Courson] has been guilty of unchristian conduct, and having been absent from the church for a considerable time, therefore resolved: that we withdraw fellowship from said brother. Slocomb being present and answering to the charge with satisfactory concessions, he was exonerated. As Sister Brymer was not present, a committee was appointed consisting of brethren Barnes and Fudge to see and notify her that the charge against her would be considered at our next meeting. Brother Brymer having requested through the clerk that his connection with the church be severed, and the matter being considered to some extent, the clerk promised to offered a resolution to that effect at our next meeting. Our district meeting, composed of ministers and deacons of several churches, convened with us, on Saturday and Sunday, August 30th and 31st, 1884; and after the business of said meeting was over, we had protracted services both day and night until Tuesday, Sept. 9th. Elder R. A. Lee of Monticello was with us, who did nearly all of the preaching. The ministration of the Word was attended with the power of the Holy Spirit unto the conviction and conversion of many souls. During the meeting, the membership of our church and quite a number from sister churches also, were greatly revived and spiritually benefitted. The following named persons were received into membership with us by experience and baptism, to-wit: Frank Thach, William Linder, Samuel Bethune, Y. H. Allen, Alonzo McDougald, John Powell, John Wilcoxen, Willis Stanley, William McCauley, Ambrose Cone, James Rodgers, Robert Riley, L. A. Lloyd, D. T. Lloyd, Alice Brymer, Ruth Allen, Bolen [Colen] Allen and Minnie Griswold. And Bro. Jack Ward and Sister Axie Brymer, both having been excluded from the fellowship of our church were restored to the same. Bro. B. F. Morris, who had been excluded from Mt. Olive Church, was also restored to fellowship with us. Bro. B. F. Jordan, a member of Clear Creek Church in Drew County, made application for membership with us, and he, having no letter of recommendation from said church, was received upon satisfactory vouchers. And Bro. G. C. Cone, who held a letter of dismission from us returned said letter and was thereby reinstated and identified with us.
On Thursday evening, Sept. 4th, the church convened for the purpose of transacting the special business of the church. The minute of last meeting was read and adopted. An election was had for messengers to the association, which resulted in the choice of brethren E. A. Fudge, E. Thach and William Hewen [Hughen] with W. W. Barnes as alternate. A motion prevailed that we send $1.50 for minutes. The clerk was authorized to write a letter to the association. The Church then made choice for Pastor for the next associational year, which resulted in the unanimous choice for Bro. Waldrop.
Our Pastor having requested us to excuse him from preaching to us at our regular time in this month, his request was granted. Adjourned to meet on our regular day in October. Done by order of the church in conference.

Also one from Aberfoil Church in Alabama requesting letters of dismission for Julius Cosen [Courson] and wife was read and the clerk was ordered to forward a letter to the Sister Cosen [Courson] and to inform that church, that Bro. Cason [Courson] had been excluded from our fellowship and for what offense. Also a communication from Meridian Church in Ashley County, Ark., was read which set forth certain allegations against our Pastor for what he had said relative to the ordination of a young brother (R. A. Watson) by said church. And after due consideration, the same was tabled and ignored. We then proceeded to select delegates to the association which resulted in the choice of brethren L. A. After prayer by Bro. Fudge, the church assembled in conference for the purpose of electing a Pastor. On motion Bro. Fudge was appointed moderator pro tem. Minute of last meeting was read and adopted. A motion prevailed to defer the election of a Pastor indefinitely and it was unanimously agreed that we request Elder Hogan Allen to preach for us once a month for the remainder of the ensuing associational year and Bro. Fudge was appointed to notify Bro. Allen of the same. The time for holding our conference meeting was changed from Saturday before the second to Saturday before the fourth Sabbath in each month at 3 o'clock, p.m. A committee consisting of brethren J. Our meeting was protracted from day to day until the 4th of September during which time our church was greatly revived and the following persons were added to the church by experience and baptism, to-wit: Charley Knight, John McDougald, Sam Linder, Julia Willcoxon, John Pamplin, Florence Cone, Sallie Griswold, Lula McDougald, Annie Moseley, Laura McDougald, Eliza McDougald, Lula Powell, Emma Knight, Maggie Brymer, Minnie Brymer, Augusta [Augustus] Pierce, Edward Johnson, Ambrose Cone, Wiley Buchanan, Jr., Wiley Buchanan, Sr., Thella Lloyd, Susan Beavers, H. On Thursday, Sept 1st, the church met in conference for the purpose of calling a pastor and selecting messengers to the association. Elder John S. Wood was appointed mod pro tem.

Amount collected for the church $36.70, thirty-six dollars and seventy cts. and bill of purchase for the church, 1 heating stove and piping, $8.50; 2 door, 3x7 ft $4.40; 1 pr sash 10+18 in 12 lite $2.25 for total $6.65; 2 pr butts 50 cents, extra screws, 10 cents; two door locks, 80 cents; 2 lamp chimneys at 50 cents, total $1.90; windowlits, 90 cents, putty 25 cents, nails 25 cents, cole oil, 20 cents, total 1.60; and carpenter work, $3.75. Amount used for church, $22.40, leaving the church fourteen dollars and thirty cts. $14.30. The report was received and the church tendered Miss Mattie with vote of thanks and the clerk was appointed by the church to take charge of the money. It being time to elect church officers and messengers to attend the Association, the Election was postponed until Tuesday 6 o'clock p.m. Adjourned. Our meeting was protracted until Tuesday nite and the following persons were added to the church by experience: T. J. Hughen, Willis McDougald, by letter sister Elizabeth Cone. Tuesday, August 28th, 6 o'clock p.m. the church assembled in conference for the purpose of electing church officers and messengers to represent us in the association. Elder G. D. Moore was called to the care of the church. J. R. Rodgers was elected church clerk and treasurer man. Brethren J. M. McDougald, C. A. Knight, and A. Pierce was elected delegates, J. R. Rodgers and Y. H. Allen as alternates and our church petition to the association to be held at our church next year. Bro. Fudge was appointed as committeeman to notify Bro. Moore of his being called to the care of the church. The clerk was authorized by the church to raise money from the treasury to purchase a pitcher, two goblets and a broom for the church. After services by Elder Hogan Allen, the church assembled in conference. Minute of last meeting was read and adopted. The committee that was to notify Bro. Moore if his being called to the care of the church made his report by reading a letter from Bro. Moore stating that he would accept the care of the church and committee discharged. The clerk presented the articles purchase for the church and cost of said articles, one dollar-twenty-five cents. $1.25, which was received. The church pledged $1.50 to be sent to the association for minutes and fifty cents for association purposes. Bro. Y. H. Allen called for a letter of dismission which was granted. Conference adjourned until Sunday.
Sunday, Sept. 23rd. After services by Bro. Allen, the church assembled in conference. Called for report of money collected. Bro. Y. H. Allen reported five dollars, sixty-five cents, $5.65, on mission book. The clerk reported one dollar thirty cents $1.30 on minutes. On motion, five dollars $5 for home mission, two dollars fifty cents $2.50 for foreign missions, two dollars fifty cents $2.50 for ministerial education was to be sent to the association. Five dollars $5 was paid from the treasurer of the church to be returned when collected on mission book. The association letter was then read and adopted. Adjourned. August 11th, 7 o'clock p.m. The church assembled in conference to elect a pastor and church clerk for the next associational year and delegates to represent us at the association. The election of pastor was referred until next meeting. The church then went into an election for church clerk and delegates to send to the association. J. R. Rodgers was reelected for ch clerk and Jacob McDougald, J. B. Jackson and J. W. Willcoxon was elected as delegates and J. R. Rodgers, T. H. Hughen as alternates. Conference adjourned.
The meeting was protracted for several days by Bro. Moore and Bro. Allen. During the time several was added to the church, to-wit, by letter C. F. Morgan; by restoration, Maggie Brymer; by Experience and Baptism, Ida Vancamp, Ella Stanley, Monroe Smith, Wiley Gamble, Will Linder, John Linder, George Riley, Jas. The above mention was baptized on Sunday the 18 9 o'clock a.m. Then returned to the church and services was continued. Six o'clock p.m., the church assembled in conference to elect a deacon for the church. J. W. Willcoxon was elected as deacon. It was moved and second that at our next meeting we would attend to the ordination of deacon. Elder G. D. Moore and Elder Hogan Allen and J. R. Rodgers was elected as presbytery to attend the ordination of deacon. Conference adjourned.

And the clerk was to inform Bro. Gunter of his being called to the care of the church and invite Bro. Gunter to meet with us at our next meeting. 2nd Called for new business. 1st Bro. Will Linder made satisfactory concessions to the church for fighting, Viz. Bro J. W. Willcoxon. 2nd Charges were preferred against Bro. Jack Ward for fighting and a committee consisting of two, Bro. Walter Green and J. B. Jackson was to see Bro. Ward. 3rd Charges were preferred [against] Sister Sallie McPherson, known on the church book as Sallie Buchanan for heresy and a committee consisting of Bro. Willcoxon and Bro. L. A. Central Church, January 18th 1890
After services by Elder M. A. Gunter, the church assembled in conference. 1st Minute of last meeting read and adopted. 2nd An invitation was offered for membership. 1st Bro. J. B. Franklin and wife and Bro. Burtin White presented letters of a recommendation from Mount Olive Church, and they was (sic) received into full fellowship of the church and a motion carried that we receive Bro. J. B. Franklin as a deacon. 2nd Bro. Elijah Slocomb and wife presented a letter of recommendation from Flat Creek Church and they were received into full fellowship of the church. 3rd Called for unfinished business. 1st A resolution was offered by Bro. J. R. Rodgers that we recommend Bro. Moore to the Baptist brethren of the state and to have the same published in the Arkansas Baptist. 2nd A report was made from Bro. Moore stating the amt. that had been paid to him by the members and the report was turned over to the officers of the church to make a final settlement with Bro. Moore as soon as convenient and to report at next meeting. 3rd A committee was received from Mt. Olive consisting of Bro. Drew Cone stating that they had deemed it improper for them to unite with Central. 4th Called for new business. 1st. Bro. J. W. Willcoxon stated that Bro. James Coleman told him that he had been drunk and that he was very sorry of it and hope the church would forgive him and he would try to do better and the church forgave Bro. Coleman. 2nd Charge was preferred against Bro. Wiley Campbell for the sin of dancing and using profanity and a committee of two was appointed consisting of Bro. J. B. Franklin and Y. W. Willcoxon to see and advise with Bro. Campbell. 3rd Bro. John McDougald made a statement that he had been drunk and ask the church to for give him and the church forgave Bro. John McDougald. 4th A committee of three was appointed consisting of J. R. Rodgers, O. B. Franklin and W. A. Green to investigate general rumors against Bro. Zac Wheat, John Williams and Sam Linder and to report at next meeting. 5th Bro Monroe Smith reported that he had been using profanity and ask the church to for give him and the church forgive (sic) him.6th Charges were preferred against Bro. Will McDougald for the specification of dancing and he asked the church to exclude him and the church withdrew fellowship from Willie McDougald. 7th Conference adjourned. Done by order and on behalf of the church.

1st Minute of last meeting was read and adopted. 2nd Called for report of committee that was to see Bro. Wiley Campbell which was made and received, and the church excluded Bro. Wiley Campbell. 3nd. Called for the report of the investigatory com. Bro. J. R. Rodgers reported that Bro. Zac Wheat acknowledge to dancing and getting drunk and ask the church to bear with him until our next meeting. Report received and Bro. Wheat's request granted. Bro. Walter Green reported that he had seen Bro. John Williams and Bro. Williams stated that he would meet with the church at her next meeting. The report was received and Bro. Williams being absent, the church preferred charges against him for gambling and drunkness and the church withdrew fellowship from him. Bro. O. B. Franklin stated that he had been unable to see Bro. Sam Linder and he was continuing to investigate the rumors against Bro. Linder. 4th Bro. J. R. Rodgers reported that he had made a final settlement with Bro. Moore and the church had paid Bro. Moore one hundred and twenty-five ($125.00) for his last years service. 5th Called for new business. 1st Bro. G. C. Cone called for a letter of dismission for Sister Arrie Granthom, known on the church book as Arrie Cone, which was granted. 2nd Charges was preferred against Bro. Vollie Ridgell for dancing and a committee of one Bro. J. B. Franklin was to see Bro. Ridgell. 3d. Bro. Ben Willis made acknowledgments for dancing and ask the church to for give him and the church forgive Bro. Willis. 6th Adjourned. Done by order and in behalf of the church in conference

After services by Elder M. A. Gunter, the church assembled in conference. 1st The clerk being absent, Bro. J. W. Willcoxon was elected clerk pro tem. 2nd Called for a report of the committees 1st Bro. O. B. Franklin reported that he had not seen Bro. Sam Linder but thought that the rumors was sufficient for the church to exclude him. The church received the report and preferred charges against Bro. Sam Linder for getting drunk and withdrew fellowship from him. Bro. Zac Wheat being absent, the church preferred charges against him for the sins he had acknowledged to and the church withdrew his fellowship from him. 2 Bro. J. B. Franklin reported that he had seen Bro. Ridgell and he said he was sorry he had danced and wanted the church to for give him and the church for give Bro. Ridgell. 3rd Called for new business. 1st Charges was preferred against Bro. L. A. Lloyd for the sin of fighting and a committee of two, Bro. J. B. Franklin and J. W. Willcoxon, was to notify Bro. Lloyd of the charges against him. 2nd Charges was preferred against Bro. Jasper Herren for dancing and a committee of two Bro. James Franklin and W. A Hughen was to seek Bro.Herren. Adjourned to meet at two o'clock p.m. on Saturday before the third Sabbath in April.

Lloyd for fighting and the church withdrew fellowship from him. 3rd Bro. James Franklin reported that Bro. Jasper Herren wanted the church to exclude him. Charges was preferred against Bro. Herren for the sin of dancing and the church excluded Bro. Jasper Herren.
4th Called for new business. 1st Charges was preferred against Sister Ida Vancamp for the sin of dancing and a committee of one Bro. Guss Pearce was appointed to see and advise with Sister Ida Vancamp. 2nd Charges was preferred against Bro. Sam Bethune for dancing and a committee of one, Bro. Guss Pearce, was appointed to see Bro. Sam Bethune. 3rd Charge was preferred against Bro. B. L. Carpenter for getting drunk and using profanity and a committee of one Bro Jacob McDougald was appointed to see Bro. Carpenter. 5th Adjourned. After services by Elder M. A. Gunter, the church assembled in conference. 1st An invitation was offered for membership. Sister I. M. Slocumb presented a letter of recommendation from Promise Land Church and she was received into full fellowship with us. 2nd Minute of last meeting was read and adopted. 3rd Called for unfinished business. None. 4th Called for new or miscellaneous business. 1st Sister Lizzie Gladney ask the church to grant her a new letter as she had lost the one that had been granted her. Her request was received and letter granted. 2nd The church then went into an election for delegates to represent us at the association, which resulted in the choice of E. T. Johnson, J. W. Willcoxon and J. R. Rodgers as delegates and Jacob McDougald, O. B. Franklin, W. A. Green as alternates. 3rd A motion was carried that we send two $2.00 dollars for minutes and associational purposes. 4th A motion was carried that we take up a public collection for missions on the third Sabbath in Sept. Conference then adjourned. Our meeting was protracted by for several days and some was added to the church to-wit, By letter Bro. Culbreath from Holly Spring Church in Bradley Co., Ark., Sister Culbreath from Promise Land Ch.; by Experience and baptism, Sarah Eveans [Eavans], Lizzie Eveans [Eavans], Elma Jackson, Redmon Thornhell. We met at the waters on the 4th Sabbath to attend to the ordinance of baptism. After baptism, adjourned to meet on Saturday before the third Sabbath in Sept.

After service by Elder M. A. Gunter, the church assembled in conference. 1st The church taken up a collection for state mission and four $4.10 cts. was collected. 2nd Minute of last meeting was read and adopted. 3rd The association letter was read and adopted. 4th A motion was carried that the clerk pay two $2.00 dollars from the treasure for minutes of the association. 5th Called for new business. 1st A motion was carried that we go into an election for the pastor. Bro. Gunter was unanimously elected to the care of the church for an unlimited time and the church a greed to pay Bro. Gunter One Hundred and Fifty ($150.00) dollars per annum if he accepted. 6th Adjourned.

None. 4th Called for new business. 1st Bro. John Linder made a statement by Bro. Allen that he had been guilty of unchristian conduct and he was sorry for it and wanted the church to for give him. The statement was received and the church for give Bro. Linder. 2nd Charges were preferred against Bro. George Riley and Will Linder for trespassing on Bro. Dave Williamson's place after nite and the deacons was to notify them of the charges against them. 3rd Called for report of treasurerman which was made. Amt on hand, 20 cts. George Riley stated that he would meet with the church and answer to charges against him but he was absent and the church continued his case until next meeting. 3rd Called for new business. 1st Charges was preferred against Sister Sidnie Mathews [Sidney Matthews] for the sin of dancing and a committee of one O. B. Franklin was appointed to notify her of the charges against her. 2nd Bro. Monroe Smith made satisfactory concessions to the church for his unchristian conduct. 3rd Bro. John Linder stated that he had not been living right and wanted the church to for give him. The church for gave Bro. Linder. 4th Bro. E. E. Smith tendered his resignation as pastor on the account of ill health. The resignation was considered but not granted as the church thought arrangements could be made to supply Bro. After services by Eld. G. D. Moore, the church assembled in conference. 1st An opportunity was offered for membership. Sister A. L. Rodgers presented a letter of recommendation from Mt. Olive Baptist Church and she was received in full fellowship with the church. 2nd Minute of last meeting was read and adopted. 3rd Called for References 1st Bro. George Riley made satisfactory concessions to the church for using profanity. 2nd Bro. O. B. Franklin made a report which was received and com discharged and the church withdrew fellowship from Sister Sidnie [Sidney] Matthews for the specification of dancing. 4th Called for new business. 1st. The church went into an election for delegates to represent her at the association. Bro. E. E. Smith, J. B. Franklin and Otis McDougald as principals, J. W. Willcoxon and J. H. Johnson as alternates. 2nd One Dollar ($1.00) was appropriated for minutes and associational purposes. 3nd. Central Ch. Sept. 15. The church assembled in conference for the purpose of electing a pastor. 1st A motion was carried that we elect by nomination. 2nd Bro. T. W. Adams was put in nomination and he was unanimously elected for the year 1893. 3rd A committee consisting of the officers of the church and J. H. Johnson and Lula McDougald was appointed to see how much could be raised to pay Bro. Adams for his services for the year 1893. Conference adjourned. Central Church, 17th Sept. assembled in conference. 1st Association letter was read and adopted. 2nd The committees that was appointed to see how much could be raised for Bro. Adams reported that with a little more time they could raise a sufficient amount to employ Bro. Adams for half of his time. The com was continued. 3rd A motion was carried that we employ Bro. Adams for one Saturday and two Sundays in each month and pay Bro. Adams two hundred and fifty ($250). dollars for that time. Conference adjourned.

Adams made public acknowledgments for unbecoming conduct. To wit: (exact copy) Brethren, I wish thus publicly to make acknowledgments for unbecoming behavior. ( I Pet. 5:14). I am sorry to have acted thus and with Paul can say. "That which I do I allow not, but what I would not that I do." But I delight in the law of the Lord in the inner man (Rom. 7:15-21). As I am not a member with you, I ask that my acknowledgments be recorded and then tabled to be acted on in future, at which time I ask to be forgiven. The offended parties themselves having given a written statement that I am forgiven. T. W. Adams. His request was granted and motion was carried to forgive him. 2nd Bro. Gammel was to notify him of the charges. 3rd A committee was appointed consisting to T. J. Brymer and J. W. Willcoxon and J. R. Rodgers to investigate rumors against Bro. Charley Knight for selling whiskey and wine. 4th A motion was carried to change conference time from 2 o'clock p.m. to eleven o'clock a.m. Conference adjourned.

Central Church December 8th 1894
After services by Bro. Bolding, the church assembled in conference. 1st Minutes of October 7th and Nov. 8th was read and adopted. 2nd Called for Reference. On the June minutes of the 30th, committees not prepared to make a report. The committees continued until next meeting. 3rd Called for references on minutes of Nov. 8th. 1st Bro. James Cone was present and made satisfactory concessions for charges against him. 2nd Bro. Charley Knight was present and acknowledged selling wine and made no acknowledgment and the church preferred charges against him and withdrew fellowship from him. 4th Called for new business. 1st. Bro. F. M. Linder was present and acknowledged to selling wine and stated that he was not sorry for it. The church preferred charges against Bro. Linder for the sin of selling wine and the church withdrew fellowship from Bro. Linder for charges against him. 2nd The delegates that went to the association reported the pledges they made for missions. The church accepted the report and promise to pay the pledges. 5th Conference adjourned.
