The Lions kicked off to the Jacks but a lion defender intercepted a Warren pass that was batted into the air. The Lion offense was held off again and the first quarter buzzer ended with 7-0 still on the board.
In the second quarter, the Lumberjacks ran a fake punt for a first down and then Riley Cornish got a 50 yard touchdown pass to make the score 7-6 with 7:18 left in the second quarter. The Jack kicker tied the score with a PAT and they kicked off to Hamburg. The two teams battled back and forth and the half ended with the score still stuck 7-7.
Warren kicked off to the Lions after the break giving Hamburg the ball at their own 10-yard line. The Lion offense couldn’t move the ball and the Jacks got the ball back and-pushed into Lion territory. The Lion defense didn’t give up and forced a fumble bringing the Hamburg offense to the field. The Lions pushed their way to the Lumberjack 19 yard line, but couldn’t make their way to the end zone.
A Hamburg fumble allowed a Warren defender to pick it up for an 81 yard touch down that turned out to be the game winning score as neither team scored the rest of the night making the final 14-7.
The Lions will travel to Dumas on Thursday for their final regular season game. The playoffs will begin on Nov. 15 and the bracket all depends on how Thursday plays out.
