There will be a public hearing at which users of the City of Portland, Arkansas Sewer System (the “System”), the owners of property served or to be served by the System, the citizens of the City of Portland, Arkansas (the “City”), and all other interested persons shall have an opportunity to be heard concerning the confirmation of the sewer rates. The public hearing will be held at a meeting of the City Council to be held at 6:00 o’clock p.m. on the 9th day of December, 2019, at the City of Portland City Hall, 227 N Main Street, Portland, Arkansas.

There has been introduced in the City Council an Ordinance confirming the sewer rates for basic services to be charged by the System, as follows:

Monthly Sewer Rates

The sewer usage of each customer shall be determined each month by meter measurement, and the amount to be paid by each customer shall be computed based on the following schedule of rates:

1.    For the first 1,000 gallons of water consumption per month, or portion thereof: $18.00 Minimum

2.    For the next 3,000 gallons of water consumption per month, or portion thereof: $4.00/1,000 gallons

At the hearing all objections as to rates will be heard, and the City Council will take such action as is deemed proper in the premises.
