James Harvey Pamplin

James Harvey Pamplin, 75, of Hamburg, died on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Aime Hospice Care in Shreveport, Louisiana. He is a native of Jerome, a retired truck driver and of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Margie Evon-Pamplin, on March 23, 2018; his parents, Frank and Louise Gregory-Pamplin; four brothers, Robert, Roger, William and Sonny Pamplin; and one sister, Betty Sue Ward.

He is survived by eight sons, Luke Pamplin of Baywood, Louisiana, Dean Pamplin of Little Rock, Houston, James and John Pamplin and J.r. Bergeron, all of Hamburg; Donald Bergeron of Thibodaux, Louisiana and James Kuhu of Decatur, Illinois; four daughters, Crystal Hitt of Raceland, Louisiana, Brenda Ricks of Russellville, Stacey Pamplin of Hamburg and Clarissa Parks of Crossett; two sisters, Mary Helen Walters of Hamburg, and Earline Tabor of Labadieville, Louisiana; one brother, Wayne Houston Pamplin of Hamburg; 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services were on Sunday, September 9 at 2 p.m. at Cromwell Funeral Home Chapel in Hamburg with Bro. Carlton White officiating. Active pallbearers were Michael Harris, J.R. Bergeron, Houston Pamplin, Ronald Wayne Jones, Charles Hitt, Wayne Pamplin, Jr., Shane Harris and James Ricks. Honorary pallbearers are Luke Pamplin and James Pamplin. Burial will be at Carlock Cemetery in Pine Hill Community near Hamburg under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc.

Visitation was on Saturday, September 8 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc. in Hamburg.

Jamia Nicole Allison

Jamia Nicole Allison, 14, of Little Rock, died on Saturday, September 1, 2018 in Wilmot. She is a native of Little Rock and a student at Estem Charter High School. She was a member of Zeal Church in Little Rock.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Albert and Rosie Jean Stanley-Dunn.

She is survived by her parents, Roy and Kisha Dunn-Allison, of Little Rock; her paternal grandparents, Roy and Diann Anderson-Allison of Little Rock; four brothers, Roy Allison III, Jaylon Allison, Amir Allison and Keshun Allison, all of Little Rock; and her maternal great-grandmother, Mattie Stanley, of Wilmot.

Service was on Saturday, September 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Greater Second Baptist Church in Little Rock with Apostle K.D. Allen officiating. Active pallbearers were Reginald Dunn, Timothy Dunn, Albert Dunn Jr., Jamal Moore, Ot’errious Sanders, Robert Allison Jr. and Chanslor Watson. Honorary pallbearers were the Estem Charter High School 10th Grade Class. Burial was at Elmlawn Cemetery in Little Rock under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc. of Hamburg.

Visitation was on Friday, September 7 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Greater Second Baptist Church in Little Rock.

Betty Carolyn Deal

Betty Carolyn Deal, 74, of Crossett, died on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at the Crossett Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on February 26, 1944, to her parents Carl Clinton, and Lois Mae Mercer. She was a 1962 graduate of Crossett High School and a member of South Crossett Missionary Baptist Church. For over 35 years, she worked as a licensed realtor in the Crossett area.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Deal; one son, Jason Deal; and one daughter, Dana Deal Ridener.

She is survived by one daughter, Angie Deal Meadows of Crossett; three grandsons; one granddaughter; one brother, Gerald Mercer of Dermott; and several great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 10 at Medders Funeral Home in Crossett with Bro. Don Justice officiating, followed by an interment at Hamburg Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Visitation was from 1 to 2 p.m. on Monday, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Crossett Missionary Baptist Church and the UAMS Myeloma Institute in Betty’s Memory.

Martha Tullos West

Martha Tullos West, 73, of Wilmot, died on Friday, September 7, 2018. West was a native and lifelong resident of Wilmot. She was a 1963 graduate of Wilmot High School, a beautician and she worked at the Wilmot Elementary School for 10 years. She was a member of the Wilmot United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Pierce “Sonny” West in 2017; her parents, Leslie and Willie McKee Tullos and a brother, Melvin “Sonny” Tullos.

She is survived by her daughters, Sonya Barfield of Hamburg and Leslie Mayo of Magnolia; her brother, Joe Tullos of Wilmot; her sister, Betty Boman of Winslow; her sister-in-law, Betty Fay Tullos of Wilmot; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Carlos Pitts officiating. Burial was in the Wilmot Cemetery. Pallbearers were Les Tullos, Doug Tullos, Ben Tullos, Dan Tullos, Justin Mayo, Jeff Mayo, and Jon Barfield. Memorials may be made to the Wilmot Cemetery Association, PO Box 160, Wilmot, AR 71676. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg.
