Annette Hathorn

Annette Sharp Hathorn, 83 of Hamburg, formerly of Gillett, died Aug. 26, 2019. She was born in Dewitt July 26, 1936. She was a salesperson for several years as well as a homemaker and member First Baptist Church in St. Rose, La.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Sharp and Hattie Danner Sharp; her husband, Buford Hathorn; three children, James Hathorn, Janet Hathorn, and Lawrence Hathorn; and two sisters, Anita Posey and Hazel Harris.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Hathorn of Hamburg and Patrick Hathorn of Gillett; and two daughters, Laura Hartman of Dickenson, Texas, and Judith Fritsch of Gillett; one brother, John Sharp of Mobile, Ala.; three sisters, Kathy Edwards of Dumas, Mary Corbitt of Pine Buff, and Mildred Freeman of Dewitt; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 at Griffin Funeral Home with Rev. Steven G. Tiner officiating and burial was in Walnut Lake Cemetery in Pickens.

Norma McKee

Norma Jean Jeffers McKee, 93, of Crossett, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019. She was a native of Ashley County and a former resident of Hamburg and Phoenix, Ariz.

She was a nurse and worked at Hamburg Nursing Home for a number of years. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Monticello and of the Ashley County Harmonetts.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Orvis McKee; one granddaughter, Cassandra McKee; her parents, John Calvin and Ollie Maude Knight Jeffers; and three brothers, Harold Jeffers, Melvin Jeffers, and Donald Glenn Jeffers.

She is survived by two sons, Damon McKee and Dennis McKee and wife, Judy, all of Crossett; one daughter, Shannen West and husband, Mitch, of Crossett; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Jack Fry and Bro. Daniel Hudgens officiating. Burial was in Flat Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mitch West, Mark West, Greg Stanley, Drew Allison, Damon McKee, and Ragan Hunter.

Mary Wilson

Mary Robinson Wilson, 77, of Crossett, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019. She was a native of Portland, a graduate of Crossett High School, and a former resident of Bastrop, La.

She worked for and delivered meals for Meals on Wheels.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Dewey “Hux” Wilson; her parents, Joe Dave and Mary Peoples Robinson; and six sisters, Eva Robinson, Marilyn Robinson Millholland, Judy Vining, Betty Mills, Georgia Cooper, and Jane Ann Ward.

She is survived by three sons, Joe Wilson and wife, Karen, of Crossett, Donnie Wilson and wife, Jennifer, of Hamburg, and David Wilson of Crossett; one daughter, Lisa Carpenter of Crossett; one brother, Sonny Robinson and wife, Pat, of Crossett; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 in Portland Cemetery with Bro. Keith Boseman officiating.

Honorary pallbearers were Terry Mills, Mike Mills, Runt Pettis, Perry Wilson, Matt Spikes, and Patrick Murphy.

Memorials may be made to Ashley County Walk for Alzheimer’s, 407 East First Avenue, Crossett, AR 71635.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg.
