Rell Lavan Lawson

Rell Lavan Lawson, 75, of Parkdale, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018. He was a native of Parkdale and a former resident of Hamburg. He was a police officer for 22 years and a member of Southside Baptist Church. He was a member of World Coon Hunting Association and won a world championship in 1977.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 21 years, Darlene Lawson; one son, J.T. Lawson; one step-grandson, Caleb Spaulding; his parents, J.T. and Ollie Mae Ballinger Lawson; three brothers and one sister.

He is survived by one son, William “Bo” Lawson of Fayetteville; four daughters, Tracey Lawson (Mike Croswell) of Hamburg, Sandi Borzewski and husband, Greg, Corene Schmidt and husband, Keith, and Cindy Richter and husband, Brian, all of Racine, Wis.; one brother, Glen Lawson and wife, Carolyn, of Hamburg; two step-sons, Jamie Spaulding and wife, Lorenda, and Robbie Spaulding and wife, Patricia, all of Portland; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 8 at Southside Baptist Church with Dr. Greg Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Portland Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Gary Lawson, Mike Croswell, Elmer “Bo” Edwards, Phillip Tanksley, Dewel Williamson, Dennis Holland, Charlie Aldredge and Marty Albright.

Honorary pallbearers are John Croswell, Greg Croswell, Matthew Lawson and Jarrod Lawson.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Gladys Pryor

Gladys Pryor, 93, of Monticello, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018. She was a native of Ashley County, a resident of Monticello for the past 15 years, and a former resident of Hamburg for over 70 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John W. Pryor; one son, John Sidney Pryor; one great-grandson, Aaron Paul Sawyer; her parents, Walter and Laura Ellingburg Bates; two brothers, Robert and Dewitt Bates; and three sisters, Dorothy Finley, Beulla Gates and Adine Irons.

She is survived by one son, Jerry Pryor Sr. and wife, Sherry Johnson Pryor of Monticello; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7 at Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Larry Donaldson and Bro. Joel Meredith officiating. Burial will be in Hamburg Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home.

Linda Carol Wallace

Linda Carol Wallace, 75, of Hamburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018. She was a native of Crossett and a resident of Hamburg for the past 41 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy H. and Lulu Alvern Farrar Collins, and one sister, Connie Collins.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Travis Wallace of Hamburg; one daughter, Sharla Kaye Patrick and husband, Roddy, of Mountain Home; one brother, Keith Collins and wife, Cindy, of Cody, Wyo.; one sister, Kay Smith of Lake Village; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2 in Promise Land Cemetery with Bro. Trey Emory and Bro. Josh Luellen officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Smith, Emmitt Wallace, Bill Wallace, Sammy Wallace, Johnny Kilcrease and Lee Thornhill.  Memorials may be made to Promise Land Cemetery Association, c/o JoAnn Sullivan, 318 Ashley Road 131, Hamburg, AR 71646. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home.
