Rosie “Jackie” Bowens
Rosie Lee “Jackie” Bowens, age 69, of Crossett, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2019 at Ashley County Medical Center. She was a native of El Dorado, a retired cook having worked at the Rose Inn and the Ramada Inn, and a member of Shepherds Chapel of Gravett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Lela Mae Smith Hegwood; three brothers, Joe Allen Hegwood, Roy Allen Hegwood, and Dennis Ray Ellis; and one sister, Zola Mae Hobbs.
She is survived by two brothers, James Edward Smith of Austin, Texas, and Charles Edwards of Crossett.
Services will be Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 1 p.m. at Cromwell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Horace Ingram officiating. Active pallbearers are Ronnie Parker, Aubrey Tate, Justin Edwards, Cedric Milton, Lavoris Lincoln, and Curtis Martin. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery.
Doris Lassiter, 69, of Portland, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019, at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born May 12, 1950, in Ferriday, La. She was raised in Oak Grove, La., and was a former resident of Eudora.
She graduated from Oak Grove High School and attended Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe. She was a member of Portland United Methodist Church, where she served as Sunday school teacher, participated in United Methodist Women, and volunteered for other tasks.
She worked at Portland Elementary for 19 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Blair and Ruby Jean Taunton Harris.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Fletcher Vance Lassiter; two sons, William Lassiter and wife, Carla, and Robby Lassiter and his wife, Sherry, all of Portland; two sisters, Lynn White and husband, Phil, of Kilbourne, La., and Glenda O’Fallon and husband, Keith, of Laneville, Texas; three brothers, Raymond Harris and wife, Cyd, of Lake Providence, La., Steve Harris and wife, Shirley, of Delhi, La., and Jeff Harris and wife, Kathy, of West Monroe, La.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, in Portland United Methodist Church with Rev. Walter Smith and Rev. Jim Faulk officiating. Burial will be in Portland Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Kyle Lassiter, Jake Lassiter, Robert Lassiter, Zachary Lassiter, Roger Hensley, and Robby Lassiter.

Marine Montgomery Love, 94, of Birmingham, Ala., died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019, in Columbiana, Ala. She was a native of Wilmot and a former resident of Memphis, Jacksonville, and Little Rock. She was a bookkeeper and a lifetime member of the Southern Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin Love; one son, David Love; her parents, Fred and Mayme Reid Montgomery; and one sister, Margaret Hurley.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Homes and husband, Lewis, of Hoover, Ala., and Lawanna Griffin and husband, Thomas, of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Fred Montgomery and wife, Shirley, of Wilmot; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Phillip Bowles officiating. Burial will be in Hamburg Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27 in the funeral home chapel.
Cynthia Raye McCullough, 62, of Montrose, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019, at her home.
She was a retired social worker at Mainline Clinic and a member of Ever Green Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude “CV” McCullough, and her parents, Zack Brown and Betty Coakley-Brown.
She is survived by one son, Cameron McCullough, wife Gearlisa, of Montrose; one daughter, Quinshanta Ross, husband Vincent, of Montrose; one sister, Kathy Ladd, husband Anthony, of Pine Bluff; and five grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Saturday, Aug. 24 at 11 a.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1109 N School St. in Dermott with Rev. Ricky Latimore officiating.
Pallbearers are Landrel Woods, Kedrick Mitchell, Donvan People, Nickey Hawkins, Tim Dunbar, Kardale Brown, Keedren King, and Earnest Williams.
Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons and members of Dermott High School Class of 1975.
Burial will be in Montrose Cemetery.

Arma Jean Woods, 65, of Montrose died Monday, Aug. 12, 2019 at her home. She was a minister and a community activist. She was a member of Full Gospel Outreach Ministry.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elder Huey P. Woods; four brothers, William Woods, Kenneth Woods, Christopher Woods, and Clarence Woods; and one sister, Mary Lee Woods.
She is survived by one son, Sharod Blakely of Little Rock; two daughters, Timiko Gray, husband Kenneth, of Conway and Lakeisha Johnson, husband Stacy, of Webster, Texas; her mother, Tretha Woods of Montrose; three brothers, Elder Jack Woods, wife Ethel, of Montrose, Elder Ray C. Woods, wife Yvonne, of Hamburg, and John Woods, wife Rosetta, of Portland; two sisters, Evelyn Woods of Montrose and Esther Moseby of Lawton, Okla.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Service was held Saturday, Aug. 17 at 11 a.m. at Full Gospel Outreach Ministry with Elder Jack Woods officiating. Burial was in Montrose Cemetery and under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Edward Moseby, Larry Ford, Allan Whited, Kenneth Gray Sr., Eric Moseby, Jesse Mitchell, John Ware, and Herman “Bo” Curtis.
