Meals will still be provided to children in Hamburg under the age of 18 even though school will not be in session.
On Sunday, Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced a mandatory closure for Arkansas schools in order to better protect the state from the spread of COVID-19.
Children 18 and younger may pick up their lunch in Hamburg at Noble or Allbritton Elementary campuses or in Portland at the Portland Elementary campus from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. from March 16 until March 20.
There will also be drop off locations offered as well. The school bus will drop off meals at four different locations. The Hamburg drop off will be at Pine Street Park. The Fountain Hill drop off will be at the school parking lot. The Wilmot drop off location will be at EZ Mart in Wilmot. All three of those drop offs will be at 12:30 p.m. each day from March 16-March 20. The Parkdale drop off will be at 12:15 p.m. and the location will be at the intersection of Highway 8 and the railroad intersection.
Those with questions may contact the Hamburg school administration building at 870-853-9851.
