Hamburg High School has announced graduation plans for the 2020 graduating class.

The 2020 graduation ceremony is now scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 11 at Campbell Field in Hamburg.

The ceremony will be as traditional as possible.

This is contingent on guidelines and requirements from the Arkansas Department of Education, The Arkansas Health Department and the Centers for Disease Control.

As Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced a few weeks ago, no traditional ceremonies can take place until after July 1.

In the event that the above departments direct that traditional ceremonies cannot take place during July, the district will proceed with a non-traditional ceremony on the same date.

The other contingency being faced is the work being done to the football field.

According to the contractor, the work is expected to be complete well ahead of the intended date.

In the event this work is not completed, an alternate site will be selected for the ceremony.

During this frustrating time the district has explored every option based on the overwhelming desire of students via survey and other data. There is a desire to have as traditional a ceremony as possible for the graduates, staff, families and communities and the district is striving to make that happen.
