Hamburg High School's First Priority student organization celebrated the student initiated event See You at the Pole on September 23. This date marked the twentieth anniversary for the event nation wide. This year's theme was Engage: Go and Pray with the Scripture based on 2 Kings 22:13. "Go ye, inquire of the Lord for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great is the wrath of the Lord that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us."

Students gathered together around the front of the high school at 7:30 to begin the event. Promise Land Baptist Church members served breakfast to the students, which consisted of sausage and biscuits and orange juice.

President of First Priority, Taylor Reese, delivered the inspirational speech and prayer. Her speech was based on scripture from Jeremiah 29. It described how to be a shining light in the school. Reese felt very good about the event. She stated, "It went really well, and we had a great turnout. I hoped everyone would receive a blessing." Margaret Green, sponsor of the organization, was inspired by the meeting. She stated, "This event highlights and sets the tone for our whole school year."

The students that attended the event also felt inspiration from the meeting. Senior Ravione Miller stated, "See You at the Pole is a wonderful spiritual event to engage high school students in." Junior Beth Rainey felt Reese was brave to deliver the speech. She stated, "The speech was excellent; it's good that Taylor had the courage to present the message to our high school."
