Chasity Childress has been selected as the 2009 homecoming queen. The senior court consists of Stephanie Craig, Farrah Dixon, Jordan Gilliam, Ravione Miller, Caitlin O'Neal, Laura Shaver, Shelby Streeter, Virginia White, and Megan Wood.

To be selected for the homecoming court, the girls must have a 2.0 grade point average and must also be in at least two clubs or organizations. The students voted for 20 of the 36 candidates, and the ballot was narrowed to the top 20 senior girls. The students voted again to elect the court. The football players voted the Friday morning of the Fordyce game during their breakfast. They were given a sheet with all of the maids' names and were asked to circle one name for the homecoming queen.

Homecoming Queen Chasity Childress is the daughter of Charmaine and Kenneth Childress. Childress, a member of Future Business Leaders of America, Family Career and Community Leaders of America, and Spanish Club, lives in Crossett. She is excited to receive the honor of being the 2009 homecoming queen. She said, "I feel really honored for being chosen as homecoming queen."

Stephanie Craig, the daughter of Stan and Nancy Craig, lives in Hamburg. She is a member of the Softball Team, Golf Team, National Honor Society, and leadership class, and she is captain of the Cheerleading Squad

Farrah Leanne Dixon, the daughter of Sherry and Loy Dixon, lives in Hamburg. She is a member of the National Honor Society, leadership class, Yearbook Staff, Spanish Club, and Book Club. Dixon is proud to be a member of the court, "I am really excited and very proud to have the honor of being chosen," she said.

Jordan Gilliam, the daughter of Benny and Sheryl Gilliam, lives in Portland. She is a member of Spanish Club, National Honor Society, Student Council, leadership class, and Yearbook Staff.

Ravione Miller is the daughter of LaTonia and Felton Tatum and James and Marsha Miller. Miller lives in Crossett and enjoys extra curricular activities that include Family Career and Community Leaders of America and leadership class, and she is the Senior Class president.

Caitlin O'Neal, the daughter of Richard and Cheryl O'Neal, lives in Hamburg. O'Neal is a member of the HHS Robotics Team, Yearbook Staff, Chess Club, leadership class, and the Tennis and Cross Country teams. Caitlin feels honored to be selected for court, "I am happy to be chosen by my peers to be a part of the 2009 Homecoming Court."

Laura Shaver, the daughter of Deborah and Shannon Shaver, lives in Hamburg. Shaver is a member of the HHS Tennis Team, Drama Club, and Health Occupation Students of America.

Shelby Streeter, the daughter of Tammy and Randy Streeter, lives in Hamburg. Streeter is a member of the National Honor Society, Health Occupation Students of America, Spanish Club, Book Club, and First Priority.

Virginia White, the daughter of Cynthia and Jackie White, lives in Montrose. White is a member of the leadership class, Newspaper Staff, National Honor Society, FCCLA, and Book Club. Virginia is excited about homecoming, "I feel thankful and proud to be one of ten girls selected by my peers to represent HHS on the 2009 Homecoming Court."

Megan Wood, the daughter of Lea Ann and Doug Wood, lives in Hamburg. Wood is a member of the Yearbook Staff and Health Occupation Students of America. She is honored that she was selected for court, "I'm really excited about being chosen for the court. It's a great honor that I will always remember," she stated.
