Minnie Brennon

Minnie Brennon, 69, of Crossett died Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado. A native of Hugo, OK, and a resident of Crossett for the past 66 years, she was a retired cashier and a member of Pine Forest Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Charles D. Brennon of Crossett; three daughters, Karla Addington, Karen and husband Timothy Haas, all of Crossett, and Sue Brennon of Snyder; a brother, W.L. Brantley of Brinkley; two sisters, Oleda Gardner of Crossett and Lettie Moore of Camden; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Brennon; her parents, Waymond and Leona Cornelison Brantley; a sister, Irene Willis; and a brother, D.C. Brantley.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 9, at Pine Forest Missionary Baptist Church with Bros. Roy Grantham and Donnie Dubose officiating.

Pallbearers were John Lewis, Martin Hopper, Dennis Banks, Merchell Carpenter, Burl Welsey Toler and Jimmy Carpenter. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Eubanks, William Coleman and Steve Courson.

Burial followed at Simms Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.

Carolyn Sue Ann Davis

Carolyn Sue Ann Davis 54, of Crossett died Friday February 1, 2008, at her daughter's home in Crossett. She was born July 12, 1953, to the late Henry and Leatha Ritter Yon. Ms. Davis was a homemaker.

Survivors include three daughters, Tammy Potts of Sheridan, Mindy Davidson and husband Calvin of Sheridan and Melissa Smith and husband Jason of Crossett; one brother, one sister and nine grandchildren. Beatrice Lee Huggins

Beatrice Lee Huggins, 86, of Hamburg died Friday, February 8, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Crossett. A lifelong resident of Hamburg, she was a homemaker and a member of the Bethlehem Church of Christ Holiness. She served as senior choir president, on the Pastor's Aid Committee and on the Mothers Board at the church.

Survivors include two sons, Horace and wife Estella Harrington of Hamburg and Jimmy Carl Huggins of Ripley, TN; one brother, Carl Robinson of Hamburg; two sisters, Ossie and husband Elum Richson of Hamburg and Fannie Howard of Los Angeles, CA; 16 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Archie Lee "Blue" Huggins and Chester Levell Huggins; one daughter, Floria Dean "Sister" White; her parents, Jim and Mattie Brandon Robinson; four sisters and six brothers.

Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, at the Bethlehem Church of Christ Holiness with Eld. Robert Adams, Jr., officiating. Pallbearers were to be Frankie Wright, Lonnell Richson, Lee Nimmer, Glenn Stanley, Terry Lee Rucker and Morris Richardson. Burial will follow services at the Robinson Cemetery. Visitation was to be from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, at Cromwell Funeral Home in Hamburg.

Pearl White Nolan

Pearl White Nolan, 88, of Hamburg died Saturday, February 9, 2008, at the Lake Village Health Care Center. A native of Farmerville, LA, and a resident of Hamburg since 1951, she was a sales clerk at the Carpenter's Department Store for many years, a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church and loved to hunt and fish.

She is survived by a son, Johnnie Mack Nolan and wife Sue of Hamburg; a daughter, Sandra Johnston and husband Julian of Elmore, Alabama; two brothers, Randy Lee White of Farmerville and Rev. John Willie White, Jr., of Swartz, LA; six sisters, Linda Stockton of Alexandra, LA, Becky Plunkett and Betty Jo Whitstine of Oak Grove, LA, and Yvonne Moore, Cecelia Moore and Shirley White, all of Farmerville; three grandchildren, Johnette Sullivan of Hamburg, Kelly Johnston of Houston, TX, and Angela Sayers of Elmore, Alabama; five great-grandchildren, Wendy Sullivan Hale, Emily & Wes Johnston, Dillon & Dexter Sayers; and two great-great-grandchildren Gatlin & Jace McRay Hale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Nolan, in 1997; her parents, John Willie & Lillie Ola Eubanks White; three brothers and a sister.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, February 11, in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home in Hamburg with Dr. Bobby Pennington and Rev. Klois Hargis officiating. Burial followed at Pinewood Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Jimmy Mack Sullivan, Cody Hale, Kelly Johnston, Eddie Tucker, Sonny Tucker, Gordon Hennington, Charles White & Kelley Gates.

Benjamin "Bennie" F. Rosen

Benjamin "Bennie" F. Rosen, 89, formerly of Hamburg, died on Wednesday, February 6, 2008, while at his home in Redding, CA. He was born, raised, and lived most of his life in Southeast Arkansas, working for Georgia Pacific in Crossett for many years while living in Hamburg. He served in World War II, receiving a Purple Heart for a battle wound incurred during service to his country.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Rosen of Redding; a son George Coulter and wife Sharon of Redding; five grandchildren, Michael, David, Rebekah, Trey and Bryan; and seven great-grandchildren, as well as his sisters Mary Bays and Ellen Hesselbein.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Katie Rosen, brothers Jim Wilson and Nick Rosen, and sisters Angelene Swan, Kathleen Carlock, and Martha Fay Rosen. He was a member of Beacon Missionary Baptist Church at 2170 Hartnell Ave. in Redding where memorial services for him were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9.

Elaine Cockrell White

Funeral services for Elaine Cockrell White, 65, of Bastrop, LA, were at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 9, at Central Missionary Baptist Church with Revs. Britt Dupree and Thad Douglas officiating. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Promise Land Cemetery.

Mrs. White died Thursday, February 7, 2008, at Morehouse General Hospital. She was a retired employee of the State of Louisiana. She was a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church and had served as a pianist and organist for the church since 1965. Through the years, she had been the church secretary, Sunday school teacher, active with vacation bible school, youth ministry, and the church library.

She is survived by her husband, Darrell G. White; three children, Brian E. White of Wetumpka, AL, Carrie Kindrix & husband Steve of Bastrop, and Jimmy D. White & wife Mendy of Calhoun, LA; eight grandchildren, Shannon White, Dalton White, Philip White, Mark Kindrix, Blake Kindrix, Kristin Kindrix, Zach White, Noah White; two great grandchildren, Danielle Kindrix, Giana White; two sisters, Barbara Lynch & husband Jerry of West Monroe and Linda Sue Harkness & husband William of Kingwood, TX; two brothers, Ronald Cockrell & wife Helen of Bellevue, IL, Harold Cockrell & wife Linda of Bastrop; and several nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Lillian Cockrell.

Pallbearers were Blake Kindrix, Zach White, Steve Kindrix, Tab Coleman, Ed White, and Jimmy White. Memorial contributions may be made to the Library Fund at entral Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements were by Golden Funeral Home of Bastrop.
