Obituaries Published October 3 Full Text Ima "Nemi" Watt Crow Ima Janine "Nemi" Watt Crow, 36, of Monticello, formerly of Crossett, died Monday, September 24, 2007. She was born on April 13, 1971, in Crossett to Larry Eugene Watt and Judy Sue Jordan. A site manager for Tri-State Management in Monticello and a coach for girls' softball in Monticello, she was a member of the First Church of God in Crossett and attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Monticello. Survivors include her husband, Donny Crow of Monticello; two daughters, Jordan Leigh Day and Ollie Justine Day, both of Monticello; one stepson, Matthew Crow of Hamburg; her father, Larry Watt of Monroe, LA; her mother, Judy Jordan of Crossett; her grandparents, Royce and Sue Jordan of Crossett; one sister, Mardi Weems and husband Paul and nephew Tolland of Crossett; and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins. Funeral services in Crossett were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 28, in the First Church of God with Bros. Jerry Grant and Karvin Adams officiating. Pallbearers were Brad Martin, Michael Elton, Stacy Rice, Bo Norris, Jason Akers, and John Carter. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Cornelius Jr., and the staff of the Monticello Police Department. Felicia Kaye Felts Felicia Kaye Felts, 47, of Crossett died Friday, September 28, 2007, at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Buff. A native of Dennison, Texas, she had lived in Crossett for the last twelve years. She was a self-employed janitorial service worker and a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church in the Berlin community. She is survived by two sons, Robert Welsey Felts, Jr., and Christopher Byron Felts of Crossett; her parents, Ray and Martha Christman Monday of Crossett; a brother, Ray and wife Stephanie Monday of Edgewater, FL; and a sister, Brenda Gail and husband David Henderson of Crossett. Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, grave side at the Rolfe Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Danny Merriweather officiating. Honorary pallbearers were to be Mark and David Henderson, Ray Monday, Robert Felts, Sr., Wayne Herron and Christopher Felts. Arrangements were by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg. Faye Hill Mittie Faye Hill, 84, of Parkdale died Friday, September 28, 2007, at the Benton Health Care Center. A native of Henryetta, OK; a resident of Cabot for six years and a former resident of Parkdale and Eudora, she worked as a bookkeeper for E.D. Gregory Company in Parkdale for many years. She was an avid reader and an active member of the Parkdale Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, James Hill of Little Rock; a grandson, Rob Pierce of Rison; two granddaughters, Renada Gray of Gravel Ridge and Brooke Pierce of Birmingham, AL; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Hill, in 1987; her parents, James & Omma McConald Rounsaville; one sister and four brothers. Online guest book at www.jones-hartshorn.com Vrelan Clyde Johnson Vrelan Clyde "Patchy" Johnson, 85, of Crossett died Monday, September 24, 2007, at the Golden Living Center. Born on May 25, 1922, in Crossett to Leslie Clyde and Ada Ethel Newton Johnson, he was an Army veteran of WWII and was employed by the Crossett Company and Georgia Pacific for 43 years. Mr. Johnson was a member of Beulahland Assembly of God. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and making fishing lures. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Edith E. Rickman Johnson of Crossett; one son, Lelan G. Johnson and wife Marie of Hamburg; three daughters, Ellon Johnson and husband Johnny M., Libby Carter and husband Johnny F., and Gwen Stephenson and husband Aubrey, all of Crossett; two brothers, Travis Eloyd Johnson and James Russell Johnson, both of Pine Bluff; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Clara B. Roberts Johnson; a grandson, Brad Johnson; and a granddaughter, Sharon J. Mason. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 26, in the Beulahland Assembly of God with Bro. Ron Reddin officiating. Eora Louise Ludlam Kelly Louise L. Kelly, 90, of Marion, Iowa, died Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at St. Luke's Hospital following a sudden illness. She was born Christmas Day, 1916, to Lula and William Ludlam of Hamburg. A graduate of Hamburg High School, she studied nursing at Vicksburg, MS, and after receiving her RN was appointed public health nurse at the Lauderdale County Health Department in Meridian, MS. She served her country honorably in World War II in the United States Army Nurse Corps, earning the rank of first lieutenant and serving as chief of nurses at the Kennedy Hospital in Memphis. She married Edwin F. Kelly, then also a lieutenant in the U. S. Army, on July 11, 1944. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Marion and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, Bertie and Verda Lou; and a brother, Otis, who died as a small child. Survivors include her sons, Edwin F. Kelly and wife Sue now residing on the sailing vessel Enjoue based in Florida, Walker Blake Kelly and wife Linda of Marion and Ronald West Kelly and wife Patricia of Ottumwa. Also surviving are grandchildren Christopher E. Kelly and wife Jennifer of Johnston, Iowa, and Matthew Kelly of Rock Island, IL; step-granddaughter Erin and husband Jamie Shirk of Ft. Madison; and great-grandchildren Claire and Grace Kelly. Numerous relatives in Ashley County include three nephews, Billy Bierbaum, Henry Bierbaum and Fred Bierbaum, all of Hamburg, and their families. Visitation was held on Sunday, September 23, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with funeral services on September 24 in the First United Methodist Church of Marion. Burial with full military honors was held in the military section of Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines beside her late husband of 50 years. Pauline Malloy Pauline Malloy, 90, of Crossett died Tuesday, September 25, 2007. A native and lifelong resident of Crossett, she was a homemaker and a member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church. She is survived by three grandsons, Jimmy Sedberry of Tampa, FL, and Michael and Gary Hughes of Pine Bluff; two granddaughters, Gena Price of Crossett and Donna Hughes of Pine Bluff; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Malloy; a daughter, Becky Sedberry; a son, Woody Hughes; and her parents, Lonnie and Adell Courson Smith. Online guest book at www.jones-hartshorn.com. Dorothy Grace Pickens Dorothy Grace "Nip" Pickens, 73, of Crossett died Tuesday, September 25, 2007, at the Ashley County Medical Center. A native of Crossett and a former resident of Las Vegas, NV, she had lived in Crossett for the past 23 years. She was a retired inspector for Caesar's Palace and a Methodist. Survivors include a son, Fred, Jr., and wife Judy Howard of Las Vegas; two daughters, Cynthia Childs of Crossett and Patricia Childs of Memphis, TN; three brothers, Robert Eugene "Boobie" and wife Katherine Williams of Crossett; Kevin and wife Martha Dunmore of Milwaukee, WI, and Joseph and wife Priscilla Dunmore of Forest Park, IL; a sister, Emily A. Brown of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sylvia Childs; a son, Robert Childs, Jr.; her parents, Willie Dunmore and Carrie Mae Williams; two brothers, Billy Joe Williams and Eddie Dunmore; and a sister Earnestine Mansfield. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 29, in Zion Temple A. M. E. Zion with Rev. Tyrone A. Broomfield officiating. Pallbearers were Earnett Lee Simpson, Elbert R. Gibbs, Aubrey Tate, Larry Rogers, Thomas Lowe and Charles Moore. Burial followed services at the Westview Cemetery with arrangements by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg. Johnnie L. Pierce Johnnie L. Pierce, 83, of Hamburg died Tuesday, September 25, 2007, at his residence, after an 11 month struggle with brain cancer. He was a native of Harrisburg and a resident of Hamburg since 1946. Due to the death of his mother during childbirth, he spent part of his childhood living with his neighbors, the Baileys. At the age of 18, he joined the United States Army and served during World War II as a member of the 271st Combat Engineers of the Third Army. He was stationed in Germany and Austria from 1944 to 1946. After the war, he moved to Hamburg and in 1952, he opened Pierce Auto Parts. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Hamburg Post #9360, Woodmen of the World, McLeod Deer Camp, the Harriman Deer Camp and the Southside Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by a son, Johnny W. Pierce and wife Lissa; a daughter, Freida Lynn Pierce; a brother, Douglas Pierce, all of Hamburg; two sisters, Nellie Johnson of Portageville, MD, and Mary Blandford of Grandtower, IL; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, William & Katie Douglas Pierce; a brother, Kinny Pierce and two sisters, Lula Bell Pierce and Ethel Mae Pierce. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Thursday, September 27, in the Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Pullin and Dr. Bobby Pennington officiating. Burial followed services at Pinewood Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Larry Booth, Wyatt Smith, Bobby Martin, William Coleman, Royce Bowden and Bruce King. Honorary pallbearers were Wesley Fairchild, Wendell Ashcraft, Willie Booker, Pat Shelton, James Ware, Dale Reynolds, Freddie Martin, Chuck White and Bob Davis.
